Koala Dundee the Travel Buddy

Koala Dundee's stay in Japan

Koala Dundee is from Miallo State School in North Queensland, Australia. He is a nice guy who is cool in a brown vest. Children in Kodomo Eigo like him very much. He came to Fuchu-cho, Hiroshima on November 10th to bring letters and books that year four students in Miallo State School gave students of Kodomo Eigo.

This is a picture of Year 4.

We are very happy to exchange letters with Children of Miallo State School who study Japanese and write Kanji as well as HIragana and Romanized Hiragana. At Kodomo Eigo children were astonished their letters because year four students could write them beautifully. Strawberry Class, Cherry Class, Peach Class, and Orange Class wrote letters and some of Pineapple Class that is the youngest one in Kodomo Eigo did.

It is striking that Year 4 students created their own books describing Koala Dudee and Year four students. They are attractively bound books. I think teachers took great care in creating books. Now Kodomo Eigo keep them and children are happy to read them.

Children in Kodomo Eigo enjoyed letters to Year four of Miallo State School. Kodomo Eigo is an after school school to study English so they write only in English whenever they write something. But this time they wrote letters in English and Japanese for the first time because Year four of Miallo State School can read Hiragana.
