Shiro the Travel Buddy

Shiro is a soft toy that is a toy bear. His color is white so he is called Shiro. Shiro means white in Japanese. He is a friend of children in Kodomo Eigo that is an English school. He was looking forward to visiting foreign countries.

Children of Kodomo Eigo, Japan and those of Lincoln Elementary, U.S.A. started to exchange e-mail on September 24th. It was exciting experience for children in both countries. Shiro started keeping his diary on September 24th. Strawberry Class, Cherry Class and Peach Class, kept his diary instead of Shiro. Moreover Orange Class and Pineapple Class helped them.

Shiro left Hiroshima for U.S.A. on October 24th. Shiro is going to Lincoln Elementary, in Kansas, U.S.A. Now he is in a package, maybe in a jet. Shiro takes gifts for students of Miss Hinthorn's Class. Strawberry Class enjoyed choosing gifts, Otedama and Ohajiki. Children of Kodomo Eigo hope 4th graders of in Miss Hinthorn's class like them. Also they hope Shiro enjoy his trip to U.S.A.
